@#$*&! i hate cell phones. our most recent bill is $94.74 instead of the usual $25. i guess we've been using our phone more since we moved out, and i didn't know we were charged for incoming calls. ugggh crap!!! i don't think this has ever happened to me before, but i guess it was inevitable... i've heard so many insane phone bill stories from other people. :(
i thought about asking for a "one time courtesy credit" from the customer service rep, because i used to always have to give those to crazy americans when i worked for at&t. but then i thought... i don't want to be one of those self-centered assholes who can't take responsibility for their actions and thinks they deserve special treatment just because they don't feel like paying for their bill.
i am so tired. i was awake for almost 24 hours because i had to work a night shift, then i slept for only 3 hrs, and i can't sleep anymore. the sun is too bright, and julian comes to cuddle me every 5 minutes and wakes me up...
i guess i'll play animal crossing, that will cheer me up.

http://www.moby.com/journal/2009-12-05/ah-just-back-48-hours-npr-dc-i-love-npr.html ah, just back from 48 hours with npr in dc. i love npr. i want to move there, maybe they'll let me sleep in a utility closet. seriously, npr is one of the best things about media in america. smart and progressive and idiosyncratic and interesting and understated. and their numbers keep going up while conventional radio and media continue their descent into the toilet of low ratings and diminishing revenues. perhaps conventional radio and media could learn some things from npr? like:
1 respect your audience 2 smart and funny are not mutually exclusive 3 the lowest common denominator is/are not the only demographic 4 people actually have attention spans longer than .7 seconds when the programming is smart and interesting 5 screaming at people is not the best way to sustain their attention 6 people will be loyal if you give them good reasons to be loyal i'm not sure if i'm allowed to say why i was at npr in dc for 48 hours. so i won't. at least for now. at some point when i'm allowed to i'll say why i was at npr in dc for 48 hours. i do as i'm told. obediently,
-moby
